We are thrilled to introduce our very first feature blog on our new website, celebrating a truly enchanting wedding weekend at the picturesque Greyleigh in Kiama—a venue that merges historical charm with the natural beauty of the South Coast of NSW. Located just half an hour from our floral studio, Greyleigh offers an idyllic setting that makes designing bespoke floral arrangements both an inspiration and a delight.
Entitled "L'Amour De Ma Vie," this editorial shoot, planned by the talented Brooke from Paloma Events, encapsulated a seamlessly stylish wedding weekend set against the lush, expansive grounds of Greyleigh. Inspired by the homestead's luxurious interiors and the sweeping countryside, our shoot was a beautiful testament to the art of marrying landscape with design. Collaborating with an incredible team, including the remarkable photographer Matt Godkin and other top-tier NSW-based creatives and vendors, we at Mrs Gibbons Flowers were privileged to bring floral artistry to each moment of the event.
The secret garden ceremony was a breathtaking spectacle, inspired by the rolling green hills, stone walls, and distant ocean views. Paloma events crafted the chairs (covered with stunning linen slips into an organic ceremony circle, adorned with a bespoke selection of freestanding sculptures designed with seasonal blooms and fillers, each reflecting the grandeur of the surrounding landscape.
The orchard, bursting with citrus and other fruits, provided a charming locale for the aperitivo hour. Here, cocktail tables draped in linen were topped with small, sculptural fruit stacked arrangements featuring unusual orchid blooms, adding an artistic touch to the garden setting.
The welcome dinner drew inspiration from a quaint cottage garden, featuring our garden style floral designs willed with local cottage roses and tree peonies with a stunning tower of pears embellished with pearls and ribbons, creating a soft and intimate atmosphere that welcomed guests with open arms.
Paloma Events skillfully integrated various elements and furniture from Greyleigh, enhanced meticulously chosen textural details such as linen chair covers and handmade bow candelabras, a curated selection of antique silverware and crystal glassware brought relaxed elegance to the affair, while our uniquely shaped floral arrangements and dramatic hanging installations, featuring hand-threaded beans, tied together the aesthetic for each part of the wedding day.
At Mrs Gibbons Flowers, we believe in creating floral designs that not only complement the setting but also tell a story. This wedding weekend shot at Greyleigh was not just an event; it was a canvas where every bloom and petal painted a picture of love and celebration. We are honored to have been a part of this magical weekend and look forward to bringing many more floral dreams to life in such inspiring venues.
